Family Spotlight: The DeSilvas

Hi, APCC family! We are Kelvin, Sarah, and Elaine De Silva and we have been back attending APCC for the past year. We are in the Tysons Connect group and have been blessed to be able to connect with our friends even in the midst of the pandemic. We (Kelvin and Sarah) have been married for almost four years and welcomed Elaine to our family last February 2020! In our free time, we love going out to look for ducks, exploring different parks and playgrounds, and finding new things to eat together.  

This past Sunday, Daniel Dixon preached on Acts 18:9-10. He focused on the way God builds His church as He ministers to the people in it. We have experienced this first hand, as members of two church planting teams. It is impossible to partner with God in the immense task of multiplying the Kingdom if He is not first ministering to our hearts and encouraging us to "...not be afraid. (v.9)" In our experiences with church plants, God has humbled us and also graciously met our needs, whether it is through providing deep friendships at the right moment or by reminding us of the Gospel when we are tempted to rely on ourselves. God truly sustains His people through the church and we are excited to be part of a church body that is committed to building each other up by relying on the ultimate Builder.
