Family Spotlight: The Sheltons

We met in college during the first semester of freshman year at George Mason University (GMU). We both became involved with CRU and grew together while pursuing God. We got married during COVID-19 quarantine and today Daniel is pursuing his graduate degree at Marymount University and Tess will be graduating from GMU in the spring. We joined APCC in the fall of 2019 and have really enjoyed becoming part of the APCC community! During our free time, we enjoy biking, kayaking, and playing board games.

Being college students during the COVID-19 pandemic, we came to a greater understanding of how God is sovereign and He can make even the seemingly worst situations a blessing. We were both unenthusiastic about virtual learning and the lack of community that the pandemic forced on us. However, the pandemic made us slow our schedule and allowed us to spend more time with God without the distractions that often put God on the backburner. In the midst of our busy lives, we just have to take a moment to clear the distractions and refocus our lives around God.
